There are no captions here because most of the photos are in groups, and the captions would all read the same. Sedona is very much a place to view. |
1 - 5 | Along the way Driving north from Phoenix towards Flagstaff, Sedona is about two thirds of the way. These pictures were taken as we left the main freeway and began to meander along into Sedona - it is the drive as much as the place itself that is the attraction. You can see from the sky that this was a bit of an overcast day - it was November in fact, but if you take a look at the Grand Canyon pics( and those from Phoenix), you will see just how changeable the desert weather is. |
6 | Flags You can see the Arizona flag ( also next to the USA flag at the top ) flying alongside the Stars and Stripes. Arizonans are very proud of their state flag. The building on the left is just a coffee stop. |
7 - 10 | Flags All around Sedona the views are as breath taking as Arizona is. Bare desert ? Not on your life. |
11 - 13 | Shopping precinct All those openings you can see are actually shops and this superbly laid out area is in fact, a shopping precinct. Okay, most are tourist traps, but the buildings are original as is the charm of Sedona. |
14/15 | Indian Pueblo This was an inhabited Pueblo, but nobody knows why one day the Indians just took off and left, never to be seen again, just vanished. No doubt the truth is out there, somewhere. |
